Gift of Garb
They bought their four-year-old son two stuffed bears... one in a UPS uniform and the other in Marine garb.
When the boy seemed confused by receiving the two bears, his father brought out a picture of himself in full Marine dress."
See, Connor?" he explained, pointing to the photo and then to the bear. "That's Daddy."
Connor's eyes went from one to the other, and then he asked in a puzzled voice, "You used to be a bear?"
I'm glad my kids weren't idiots!

Baby Names
One day when Donna and her 4-year-old were shopping, a woman asked the little boy if he was excited about the new baby.
"Yes!" the 4-year-old said, "And I know what we are going to name it, too. If it's a girl we're going to call her Christina, and if it's another boywe're going to call it quits!"
Naomi's true name!
Curfew Crackdown
A sergeant in charge of one of the patrols heard a shot ring out at 9.35 pm.
He soon discovered that Private Connolly had shot the man in the leg.
"It's only 9.36 pm," roared the sergeant. "Why did you shoot him?"
"I know that man," said Private Connolly, "I know where he lives. He would never have got home by 10 o'clock."
My girls would never have lived!
The 12-Mile March
We got started at 6 a.m. and were pumped up for the trek.
An hour later, feeling the heavy load of our packs, we wondered if the end would ever come. "Men," our sergeant yelled, "you're doing a fine job. We've already covered four miles!"
Revitalized, we picked up the pace. "And," he continued, "we should reach the starting point any minute now."
My kind of trek! I love those 12-milers, I can almost get to the starting point!

The Brass Rat
All of the sudden he spies a huge BRASS RAT in the corner. He falls in love with it, so takes it to the cashier.
"The rat, eh?" says the old grizzly cashier "um, yeah...how much?" replies our friend
"Well, five bucks for the rat--but 200 dollars for the story," he replied.
"I'll just take the rat, without the story." Says the customer.
He leaves the store, his precious brass rat tucked under his arm.
Soon he begins to notice that a few rats are following him.
He walks a few more blocks and the number of rats behind him increased.
This continued, until there were virtually millions of rats behind him.
Afraid of this mass following the man ran to the sea and threw the rat in.
All of the rats plunged in after it, and met their watery deaths.
The man ran back to the antique store.
The old cashier was chuckling to himself. "So now do you want the story?"
"No," said the man, "but have you got any brass lawyers?"
Just for Nate!

Racists and Lightbulbs
None -- they don't want to be enlightened!
She’s Probably Right
So he asked them, “What advice would you give to the newly-married couple?”
Mrs. Perfesser said, “The three most important words in a marriage are, ‘You’re probably right’.”
Everyone looked at the old perfesser. He said, “She’s probably right.”
You might be from New Jersey if …
-You never listen to what the other person is saying…
-And if by chance you did happen to listen …… you don’t care …
-If you disagree with my agreeing with you …
-You say “youz guys” …
-Instead of saying “what’s up with that” you say “what’s up wittit” …
-You know everything about everything and anything …(???)
Johnny wanted to be an accountant
Tester: If I give you two Rabbits, and two rabbits, and another two rabbits, how many rabbits have you got?
Johnny: SEVEN!
Tester: No, listen carefully again. If I give you two Rabbits, and two rabbits, and another two rabbits, how many rabbits have you got?
Johnny: SEVEN!
Tester: Let’s try this another way. If I giveyou two bottles of beer, and two bottles of beer, and another two bottles of beer, how many bottles of beer have you got?
Johnny: SIX.
Tester : Good! Now, if I give you two Rabbits, and two rabbits, and another two rabbits, how many rabbits have you got?
Johnny: SEVEN!
Tester: How on Earth do you work out that three lots of two rabbits is seven?
Johnny: I’ve already got one rabbit at home now!
How many Jokes will it take for me to win?
Three Old Gents
Windy, isn't it?" said the first."
No, its Thursday!" replied the second.
The third looked at the other two and said, "So am I. Let's go get a beer."
Why anyone would want beer I have no idea as it seems gross to me. But Diana seems to have liked it.

Money
About a hundred years ago money was backed by actual gold or silver, heretofore referred to as just gold, deposits and so one could go to the bank and literally say, “I do not want currency or coin, I want gold”! Then one day a bright banker decided to create money out of thin air and in about 1985 it became illegal for a person in the US to own actual gold or silver but just stocks or bonds for gold, again just paper. So today, all money is created out of thin air.
I must clarify this a little, you see the banker thought, “I can make a loan from the amount of gold I have on hand so that debt is actually creating me money so I should be able to lend not only on the reserves I have on hand but also on the interest portion of the debt that I hold!” [I wasn’t much longer that a group of bankers called the “National Trust” got together and started allowing specific interest rates. This group has nothing to do with the government. Thereby, creating all money from thin air. Today this group is a multinational group. So it is easy to understand why the Lord is so dead set against debt in general, I hope we will all work toward getting out of debt!

Mom
I do not want to read any comments as to how I was also an inspiration to you as I know how little I did and that I never learned the importance of listening to you
Now that we no longer have children to take care of Diana has turned all of her talents on me. I do not complain, I just wish I had known this earlier in my life as it would have eliminated many unnecessary and useless fights which were destructive to your welfare. Diana used to say “It is necessary for her/his development!!!” to which I would say “butt we’re not saving any money” and now she says “It’s for your comfort, you are more comfortable aren’t you?” to which I say “Yes, but we’re not saving any money”, I guess we are not supposed to save any money. A real pain in the neck.
Since then I have been unable to turn my neck more than a trifle and I have had a headache that is almost to die for. I am just playing with words. Maybe I should ask for more help but I know that Diana does more for me than most wives ever have to do for their husband.
The best thing that could have happened to me is is that Alex and Kiki had a little girl named Rocio (Dew in English) Amelie (sounding like Linda Wyatt's middle name) she weighed 6 lbs and 9 oz. being 19 1/2 lnches long, tall and skinny. I am so glad for this as I now have something better than a headache to think of. Alex says she is blonde and she does not have a big head! I'll bet she is beautiful like her mom.

What is this life all about
These blessing stories will only be as I remember them or as Diana reminds me of them so no chronological order will prevail. When I was born I was blessed with air to breathe. That’s one!
Actually I wanted to say that in 1991 I had a stroke where my hemadocrit went from 42 to 59 and the blood was as thick as Jello or as Diana tells it they had to use a syringe to extract blood from me as it was so thick. Little wonder I didn’t die on the spot.
The surgeon who first saw me said ”He has a major bleeder” and thought I should go directly to surgery. But Diana asked if I could have a blessing as there were many residents studying there at UNC for their doctorate who were in our Ward and she paged a close friend and after hearing wat the first doctor thought, paged another member resident who was on hand in the hospital and I was given a Priesthood blessing. After this blessing the first doctor decided he needed another X ray to exactly find the bleeder. After the X ray was taken it was quite awhile before the original doctor came back to tell Diana that he could find no sign of the bleeder to which our friend the resident Diana had first called said he knew it all the time as the Spirit was so strong.
I have no definite idea as to why my life has been spared so many times but I hope that I am able to be a good enough person to warrant such a tremendous blessing. And as to the answer to the title question I guess that I will only know for myself so each of us must figure this out for himself/herself. Sorry!

A few days ago I wrote that I was having trouble seeing. Last Tuesday night I asked Nate and Vallen to give me a blessing. Nate anointed me and Vallen Sealed the anointing and gave me a blessing.
Before the blessing I told of the struggles I was having that I was really having a hard time seeing and that I wanted to continue to work in the name extraction program but that because of my eyesight I didn’t think I was going to be able to continue. In this blessing Vallen said many things and not all are going to be repeated as they are not of value to this blog (I cherish each word that was said though) Vallen said at the beginning that they hoped the desires of my heart would be fulfilled.and I thought , What good is this, then toward the end Vallen said we bless you that the desires of your heart will be fulfilled. (Using the priesthood of our Father in Heaven)
The next morning I got up to test my blood and to take my shot and for the first time for over a week I was able to see the syringe needle as it went into the insulin bottle and I didn’t need to call Diana to check the amount of insulin I had drawn as I could see the markings as I drew the insulin out. I am also able to read the computer screen without the magnifier within Accessibility of Accessories. But because of the struggle I went through during the previous week I had learned to use this magnifier and am now able to help myself along during the name extraction work.
It is amazing the power of the priesthood and I am quite surprised that everyone is not desirous to have this power in their lives.

Got my eye on you
I am writing by touch mostly today as last
On Monday I put my sunglasses in my eye instead of on my face and over the eyes. This causes me to cut a fairly large area of the cornea, well I 5hought I would give it a day and it would stop hurting but Wednesday morning I called and made a same day appointment to go and find out what happened. They made me see an eye doctor and she must have been new as she cut some more of the cornea, to smooth it out the area. Ten she put a clear contact on my eye as a band aid. Well, she put some kind of drop in my eye that made it feel well the entire time that she was working on it and for about an hour afterward. She let me go with just some antibiotic eye drops and made an appointment for Thursday. Funny part about this visit is that she put the numbing drops in my eye and said if you feel anything lrt me know so I told her a while later that I felt something on my lashes and she laughed and said that was ok but to let her know if I felt anything on the eye.
Thursday I went back to see a different doctor and she was also young., I guess they just wanted a lot of new doctors to practice on me. She just looked, took out the contact and put in a new one, then gave me some dilating drops to put in twice a dayand had me make an appointment for Friday. Funny thing here is that when I made the appointment they told me the only appointment they had open for this third doctor would be at 1:00 PM. That was fine so I called Kristy and asked her for a ride on Fridy she said that was fine andwhen I got home I had a message on the message machine saying the doctor would like to see me earlier at 10:00 or 11:30 Am or st 12:30 PM I thought this to be funny as the receptionist had told me that the only available appointment was at 1:00 PM. So I called Kristy back and changed the time to 10:00 AM which is the appointment I had chosen.
Friday when I went back the doctor was still young but he looked and acted as if he had been a doctor for a few years. He looked in my eye and said that the area had filled in and that it should get well in a few days, he took out the bandaid and told me he wasn’t going to replace it as I wouldn’t be able to come back in on the weekend. He told me to only take the dilating drops for the next two nights but too continue the antibiotic drops for about five daysand asked me to come back to see HIM in about a week so I made an appointment for Thursday July 5th at 3:30 PM.
And I am exhausted. Hope to see some of youse guys in the next couple days.

Memorial Day Weekend
Each of Kristy's children took turns riding with us but Zeke was the only one slow enough to catch on camera, I guess because he was tied down.
Diana and I thought we could take care of their kids so we let Adam and Ciria take a night to themselves. Kari-Lyn is so cute to look at but is faster than a speeding bullet... After dumping salt all over the table when we sat at Wendys to eat she spilled her milk and before Diana got back with enough napkins Kari had become a little angel as one can see. I think she ate a couple chicken nuggets and a few french fries then spilled some more milk.and as we were leaving we found the ketchup on the window sill beside her. We left it and hurried out to the car. Then when we got home we started to watch a movie and Kari spilled some more milk on Cirias downstairs couch. As one can see during this whole time Zoë was a real angel but before the movie was over Kari had destroyed the ability to hear what was on the TV! Anyway as one can see
this is what was left of me at even tide.
But this is the delicious and beautiful Cake that Ciria made in her kitchen for Calixtas birthday before we went out to the birthday party park and even Dan was able to visit us there but we didn't get any pics.

Complaint...
When I first found that I had diabetes I felt “No big deal I will just act like I had nothing wrong with me.”, this was a big childish mistake as I was only twelve at the time. My problems have mostly risen from the fact that I never changed this attitude that “I am just going to act as if I were normal”. Since then I have gone totally blind in the left eye and legally blind in the other and this is the worst thing that could happen. I truly wish that I had paid attention to the doctors and to my mother as they were only concerned for my health.
I have put Diana through a living he__ as I would go through insulin reactions without knowing what I was doing or what was going on around me and I am sure I affected many others as well.
Each of the following incidents caused me pain and nausea without me even realizing it.
Ø Renal transplant
Ø Heart attack 7 in total
Ø Loss of both legs
Ø Loss of the ability to use left hand and arm for much beside balancing on
And the worst of all is the stroke which has left me without the capacity to think clearly about most things. This is the reason that I had to take a disability retirement. It is the reason that Diana has to do so much more than a normal wife should have to do, she has to act as if I were not even here with the exception of my little income.
And eve worse than the stroke is the poor way I treated my children so they don’t even want to have much to do with me now.
Diana asks me why I don't complain about the raw deal I was given in this life and my answer has always been that each of us were given the choice of what would happen to us and this is what I chose. So why have I done so many sinful things if I believe this so strongly? Answer: That is the sixty-four thousand dollar question.
So I have come to a point where I am incapable of doing much more than existing, well I told you at the start that I am in a foul mood today!

Grandchildren
1) Never ever doubt the love of your parents of whom your Heavenly Father is the MOST important. (I believe your earthly parents will teach you of this great being and so I will not take the time to try to tell you all you should know.)
2) As you get to be a teenager you will discover more and more exciting things that you will believe is a new discovery to you and your friends. This is great and you should be excited about it. Your parents were excited too. There is little that you will learn that is not already known by your earthly parents and our Heavenly Father knows ALL.
3) Don’t be as dumb as your grandpa while studying. I never tried until after I got married, then I thought it was important to understand what I was studying so remember it is not just for yourself but for your future spouse and children that you are studying now.
4) Friends are a good thing in your life and will mean more to you than you can believe. Friends will help you make many decisions in life and because of this you need to be very picky about who you choose as a friend. Try to choose members of the church as the biggest portion of your friends. ALWAYS REMEMBER that friends are not as important as your parents. My children forgot this sometimes.
5) Cars were so exciting to me and so I believe they will be to you also. They are not a toy that can be broken and forgotten as you have done with Christmas gifts a lot so far. They are a significant expenditure to you or to your parents and so should be treated as you would treat a good friend.
6) When dating:
Remember that dating is a time in your life when you should have fun, good wholesome fun that you can always look back upon with pride during the rest of your life. So don’t do something you cannot tell everyone including your Heavenly Father about. (He will know anyway.)
a) Wives will almost always be like their mothers. (Except your grandma who is like her mother in most ways except she wants the best for her children.)
b) Husbands will almost always be like their fathers. My sons are just like me, they love to be in front of the computer or electronic games.
So always get to know the parents of the one you choose for your eternal companion. And please find someone who is worthy to go through the temple of our Heavenly Father with you.
As time goes on I will think of other things I think you should know so keep your eyes open for future posts named Grandchildren.

Bear
I wake and take Duke for a pee walk every morning at around 5:30 AM. We normally go over to the middle school next to us, Wy' East Middle School, where they have a track that I can go around while Duke runs around me all over in front of me , behind me and all over. I can do this only when there are no prople around as Duke always wants to go visit everyone and lick them. This morning we got out to the side of the apartment complex and some guy was running away from the area. Well he stopped long enough to tell me to get out of the area which I did not understand as he was talking so fast that everything sounded like a blab. Duke and I ignored the fright he seemed to have and went on a little way further until a police car came up and told us that there was a bear about 1 block east of us and that I should go home, which I did.Duke still had to go to the bathroom and so I took him right next to the building. While I was waiting for him to go to the bathroom he started barking and I looked up to see a bear running across the soccer field in front of us. So I decided Duke didn't need to go that bad and went in to tell Diana.
This was the first time I have ever waken Diana early and she didn't get angry at me for waking her. She turned on the TV to watch for news and then went out into the back yard to see if she could see it. Diana didn't see the bear but she did see a pickup and a police car. She came back in to watch more news and we watched until just before the bear was darted. Because there was a commercial Diana went out in the back yard again and saw the bear running for all he was worth south. Apparently, according to the news, the bear was Darted and took off. They also said that he had been reported at around 5:00 AM and it was about 7:00 AM before the news reported him to be unconcious and in custody.

What an odd world
So I asked the doctor, through email, if I could start wearing the prosthesis once again and got the reply last night about 8:30 PM and was told the rash would reappear if I did that. I am so grateful for the new chair Vallen and Cathy purchased for me.
Love to all Dad

Boy do I feel like a dumb guy.
After I got home I decided to show off to Diana what the capabilities of the wheelchair are and as I was twisting the seat around and around and the wire broke and now I have no new wheelchair. So I called All in One Mobility and they are talking to Diana to see if she can fix it. Otherwise they will have to come fix it next Monday. So far so good.

Why not?
When we first started talking I was light and jovial as I ever am and the first thing I did was to push the chair back a bit to show them the problem I was having with my left front wheel, this was a deadly error as the rest of the people felt I was being too cavalier with the wheelchair. The rest of the meeting went downhill from then on. As the meeting progressed I got to feeling more and more like crying as it seems to me that medicare and the people in congress think that a person who has problems has to quit living as he/she is no longer worth the effort of keeping him/her alive if that person cannot pay for it without the aid of the United States. And yet I worked for many years and probably paid in a good portion of what they are re-supplying me with. And I would still be paying into this horrible thing if it were not for the DIABETES which I did not ask for, on this earth.
I would not want a socialistic nor a communistic type of government but I think the people in congress need to be more realistic with their thoughts of how a person should live once disabled. Or maybe they think nothing drastic will ever happen to them. Beside this, Diana and I have always tried to be honest in all that we do so I did not cheat the insurance company and told them that I was receiving Social Security and for this we get our butts kicked every time. I don’t understand.

The surprize
In order to take the wheelchair to the dog training session, Diana had to lift the wheelchair four times, probably 75 lbs. after the battery and seat had been removed. The next day Diana forgot to take her cell phone so I could not easily reach her during the day and after work I thought she had gone to exercise when I did not hear from her till 6:30 PM. Then I started to get worried and it was about 8:00 Pm when she called me for my social security number and said that she was looking at a new van. I had told her that I wanted a Dodge Caravan or Chrysler Town and Country, guess what! She paid no attention to me (surprize surprize) but did her research and found the safest van on the road, A KIA Sedona. See the photos below. Diana only did each side but did not take pictures of the front and back. I guess she is ashamed of the name
No SÉ.
Diana found a car sticker priced at $31,665.00 and talked them down to $23,000.00 and in doing so she did her share of missionary work, as the manager was LDS and had not been to church for ten years, After Diana was finished at 10:30 PM he went home and called his mother and apologized for not beig more active. O algo asi.

Read Diana's blog
Anyway I love the fact that so many people are blogging and don't stop. Just eliminate the looking at Diana's blog. JK
I had to change the name which was don't read Diana's blog but I wrote this before I had done the research on the power assist wheelchair. First off I found this wheelchair setup to weigh 50 lbs. Secondly I found that this is an add on to the regular manual wheelchair. The manual wheelchair costs about $2,000.00 and the add on costs $6500.00 and a regular electric wheelchair can cost as little as $3,500.00 - $4,000.00 or as much as $15,000.00. The one I got in December 2001 was about 4,200.00.
Now the reason for all of this is that I keep having the little scooter batteries burn up on me (mostly my fault for leaving the key in place or for not charging the battery at least once a week, preferably once a day). Now the batteries cost about $300.00 each time we have to replace them and it is rather embarrassing. Now I am embarased about the beginning of this post.

Dogs name & history
Duke was originally the pet of a lady who lived in a van and kept driving around on stolen gas, for which she was sent to jail. Duke obviously got put in the dog pound and every time we see a dog pound truck I hear him growl. JK Anyway the pound adopted him out as he is such a sweet dog and when the original owner got out of jail she wanted him back. The adoptive people were concerned and were told that the original owner had rights to Duke but the pound asked for Duke back and kept him for a week and kept adding charges to the bill which the original owner could pay as she had been stealing gas so she signed over the rights. Then when the people who got Duke found that he kept knocking their little boy down they decided to sell him for part of the cost of nuetering him.
We went out last night to the first meeting of trying to train Duke to be a full fledged SERVICE Dog, the lady there has a service dog named Kisha so the one syllable thing was blown. I have to get a doctors say so that I need a service dog and then we will get a cape that identifies Duke as a service dog in training. Then I will be able to take him whereeer I go. to the store to the restaurant to the john and everywhere.
ANYWAY I AM EXCITED ABOUT THIS WHOLE THING NOW. When Diana first suggested it I wan't sure but now I am excited.

Dog's name.
By the way, Diana has finally started her blog at the link on the side.
